MORE Police Money Issues

EXPECT to hear more about a shortage of police vehicles, non-working CCTV cameras, insufficient recording devices, not enough pepper sprays, camcorders, tasers, and other essentials.

That is because, once again, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is being chronically under-funded.

The insufficient budget would also lead to suppliers and service providers – such as auto repair shops – having to wait long months for payments.

The result is that more and more crimes would be unsolved; at present, the crime detection rate is only at around 15 percent.

But the Rowley Government is not bothered.

In his Budget address, Finance Minister claimed: “We have been able to establish a secure Trinidad and Tobago…”

This is an example of arrogance piled upon incompetence.
