The People’s Revolution – “Timeline” (21 Nov 2021 – 28 Jan 2022)

The People’s Revolution began in October 2021. It has been occuring througout Trinidad and Tobago, to hold this Dictatorial Rowley PNM Government to account, until our Democratic Republic is Restored and Rebuilt. (See the Timeline for 21 October – 20 November 2021 by clicking here.)

Here is a Timeline of Events for 21 November 2021 – 28 January 2022:

Sunday 21 November 2021

People’s Revolution Motorcade held by Chaguanas Borough Council Mayor and Councillors, Mayor Faaiq Mohammed, Deputy Mayor Marisa Ramlogan, Councillors Wendy Francis, Whitney Stevenson-Hamlet, Adrian Ali, Richard Sukdeo.

Taking a stance against the death of our democracy caused by this PNM Government. The negligence of Min. Rohan Sinanan and the Ministry of Works and Transport in fixing the deplorable roads and bridges within the Chaguanas Borough.

For over 15 years the Chaguanas Main Road have not been paved. The now dilapidated Randy Carter Bridge is still awaiting repairs causing many losses to the farmers. The negligence of Min. Clarence Rambharat and the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries in the eradication of the Giant African Snails, and the clearing of water courses in the agricultural lands within the Chaguanas Borough. We say enough is enough!

Monday 22 November 2021

Barataria/San Juan protested at the Head Office (Barataria) of the Valuation Division to Stop the Property Tax. In relation to the building housing the Valuation Division, MP Saddam Hosein revealed that the Hon. Faris Al-Rawi recused himself from the Cabinet when the lease for the building was being considered. He questioned what was the Attorney General’s interest in the building that he had to recuse himself from Cabinet. The rental of this building is $186,700 per month.

Afterwards the group went to the Barataria Police Station calling for it to be reopened. The closure of the police station made it very challenging for residents to make reports. Additionally there has been an increase in crime in the area. MP Khadijah Ameen and Councillors J-Lynn Roopnarine and others joined.

Residents of Marabella South/Vistabella stage a protest to highlight the poor road conditions at Tarouba Junction on Wednesday.


MP Dinesh Rambally joined with residents at La Paille Village to demand that the Caroni riverbank be fixed immediately. The erosion of the riverbank places hundreds of families in serious danger. MP Rambally called on the Minister of Works to stop neglecting the concerns of the people of Lapaille Village, and act before another flooding tragedy occurs.

Tuesday 30 November 2021

Naparima MP Rodney Charles led residents of Ben Lomond Village, Williamsville, in a protest to demand the completion of the Ben Lomond early childhood care and education centre. Construction of the school was over 90 per cent complete when the PNM won the 2015 election. Construction stopped soon afterwards.

Couva South MP Rudranath Indarsingh achieves victory in his fight against the Ministry of Health’s plan to open a mega-storage facility for covid19 fatalities on Beaucarro Road, Freeport, in early January. During Indarsingh’s meeting with residents on December 23, residents informed him that they were not consulted about the facility, but learned about it on the news.

Roopsingh Road gets a bailey bridge and its installation is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday 4th January 2022. Special thanks goes out to our Couva North MP – Mr. Ravi Ratiram, Chairman of CTTRC – Mr. Henry Awong, Councillor Dubraj Persad, the Ag. CEO of CTTRC – Ms. Maharaj, workers at the CTTRC and all others who assisted with this project.

Oropouche East MP and shadow Minister of Works and Transport Dr Roodal Moonilal met with over sixty truckers and small transport contractors at the Debe Water park, Debe.

The meeting was called to discuss complaints and grievances of the truckers and construction transport sector in light of the passage of new and higher penalties for over weight trucks on the nation’s highways and roadways.

In attendance were representatives of the South Truckers Association and the Trinidad and Tobago Haulers Association. Mr Ryan Stephens, Director at the Haulers Association along with Mr Dave Sookoo of the South Truckers Association were in attendance. The meeting was also addressed by prominent southern activist Edward Moodie and host businessman Mr Vijay Ramai.

Couva North MP, Honorable Ravi Ratiram along with Councillor Allan Taxi Seepersad join President of the Carlibay Fishing Association Mr. Imtiaz Khan on a site visit at the Carlibay Fishing Facility with representatives from the Fisheries Division and Engineering Division from the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries to identify the necessary upgrade works required at the facility, the installation of CCTV cameras and a possible location for the setting up of a Coast Guard Base.

Senator Wade Mark, MP Rudaranath Indarsingh and MP Barry Padarath met with the Communications Workers Union (CWU) at the Opposition Leader’s office to discuss the possible retrenchment at TSTT of up to 700 workers.

Friday 28 January

Penal Debe Regional Corporation protests against geographical discrimination and that the corporation has no fuel.
