The high-powered Seemungal Committee report is a stinging rebuke of the PNM Government’s handling of the Covid-19 crisis.
The report has confirmed the many revelations made by the UNC since the start of the medical emergency with respect to the ruling regime’s feeble clinical response.
The Committee said there is a lack of a critical immunosuppressive drug, shortage of medical staff, overwork of medics, insufficient PPEs, poor meals for patients, and many other weaknesses.
The 16 recommendations of the investigative team are similar to those offered over the past two years by various UNC representatives, and which were blatantly ignored by the Rowley Government.
Almost 4,000 patients have since died and more than 120,000 nationals have been hospitalised and still, non-performing Terrence Deyalsingh is heading the crucial Ministry of Health, and the failed systems remain in place.
The PNM administration is guilty of gross mismanagement of the Covid-19 crisis in Trinidad and Tobago.
