Rodney Charles: Representing Naparima in 2022

Throughout 2022, MP Charles and the Naparima Constituency Executive continued in their efforts to represent and meet with constituents from all corners of Naparima.

From protests at severe landslips along Sahai Trace, Princes Town where that street was renamed after Kazim Hosein’s abysmal performance; to beating symbolic “bobolees” at Williamsville due to unresolved flooding and high crime rates; to demanding that the Government reduce high fuel costs; to standing in solidarity with residents of Realise Road whose homes were being destroyed due to deplorable road conditions and land slippage; to supporting our taxi drivers associations in calling for better roadways; MP Charles and the Executive have continued to fight against this uncaring PNM administration to ensure the voices of Naparima are heard.

Further to that, heavy focus was placed on community outreach meetings which were held fortnightly throughout the year in every corner of Naparima. TTPS, WASA, MOWT, PTRC and other officials were present to address constituent concerns. These efforts will be continued during 2023.

Constituents were also able to enjoy in person celebrations at the constituency office for  Eid, Divali and Naparima’s annual Children’s Christmas treat which was on pause during 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.
